So much swirling these days, within me as much as without. (Aging is not fun! Except sometimes it is.)

Change is happening so incessantly and so fast that I’m forced to practice literally touching the earth, the natural world, in order to counteract the sense that the ground is shifting beneath my feet (although floods and earthquakes and air quality alerts don’t help).

I’m also practicing—which means I’m far from perfect—noticing without reacting, breathing, staying aware but letting events play out before acting. More words don’t always feel helpful, either, and today mine have dried up.

But sometimes images speak. Here are a few drawings that speak to me of noticing and watching amidst an Unknown full of motion. Although one drawing speaks to me of community. My hope is that you might recognize something of yourself or our world in these images, helping us remember we are together receiving and creating this world, even within a vast Unknown.
